The Doctoral School of Aesthetics, Sciences and Technology of the Arts adopts a unique approach, bringing together all the main major artistic disciplines (visual arts, film, performing arts, dance, digital image and photography) to create a solid, cohesive group.

The scientific policy of the doctoral school followed by its research teams was initially to achieve a cohesive overall structure. This has now been achieved, with at least one host research team assigned to each group (with a particular focus on emerging disciplines).

The educational policy aims to harmonise the application of our various types of expertise, to encourage synergies between research groups and to promote fruitful collaborations to help provide doctoral students with the best possible training.

Similarly, in terms of the future careers available to doctoral students, beyond roles in public education and research, it is important to consider the broad range of artistic disciplines and cultural fields represented in our doctoral school. These not only reflect the backgrounds of our doctoral students, but also represent the fields in which they may adopt professional roles after their studies. As part of our ambition to form connections between doctoral students and professional circles relating to their research, students are kept up-to-date with high-level cultural employment opportunities in a variety of artistic fields.
