Institute of European Studies (IEE)

At a time when the international scope of university courses is of strategic importance, qualifications in European and international studies are more relevant than ever. Not only does the Paris 8 Institute of European Studies prepare students to work in a European and multilingual context — now heavily sought-after skills in the world of work —it also enables future professionals to think on a European and international scale, something that is now essential for a long-term career.

Although most classes have been taught in French since 2016-2017, the Institute of European Studies has strengthened its European and International perspective further by offering a number of English language classes to allow non-French-speaking students to access IEE classes in the first semester.

IEE offers a range of research-based and professional courses - from the 3rd year of the Licence Professionelle (Professional Bachelor’s) in International Business Professions to our master’s programmes (offered in the four areas outlined below) and doctorates. All these courses provide students with an improved understanding of foreign languages and cultures, the mechanisms and politics of Europe, as well as international contexts and issues brought about by globalisation.
