Dans le cadre du projet "Esthétique(s) de l’éphémère" (université Paris 8, EA TransCrit), nous vous invitons à assister au mini symposium organisé autour des conférences de David Clark, artiste transmédia et écrivain (Université de Halifax) et Ariane Savoie (Université du Québec à Montréal et Université Catholique de Louvain), chercheuse dans le domaine des interactions innovantes et des pratiques de création entre littérature et médias.
David Clark - “The Delusions of Reference”
David Clark is a media artist, filmmaker, and visual artist who has produced work for the internet, gallery installations, narrative films, and public art commissions. Recent work includes the websites : The End : Death in Seven Colours, 88 Constellations for Wittgenstein, Sign After the X, and A is for Apple and Meantime in Greenwich, the first augmented reality public art commission in Halifax. His work has been screened at the Sundance Film Festival, SIGGRAPH, European Media Arts Festival, Transmediale, The Winter Olympics, and the Museum of Moving Images in New York. He won First Prize at FILE2002, Sao Paulo and the ‘Best in Show’ at the 2003 SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas. In 2006 the MICA Galleries in Baltimore organized a survey exhibition of his work. His work was included in two major surveys of electronic literature at museums in Mexico City and Barcelona. 88 Constellations for Wittgenstein was included in the Electronic Literature Collection #2 and won the Nova Scotia Masterworks Award in 2011. He teaches Media Arts at NSCAD University in Halifax.
Ariane Savoie - “Writing Disappearance : Performative Data. ”
Ariane Savoie is now completing a double PhD program from Université du Québec à Montréal in Semiotics, and at Université catholique de Louvain in Literature. She writes her dissertation under the joint supervision of Bertrand Gervais and Michel Lisse. Savoie was given a PAI research grant and her PhD dissertation is part of an international research project on Literature and Media Innovations. She specializes in the study of narratives and databases in contemporary artistic practice. Ariane Savoie acts as redactor in chief for bleuOrange, a hypermedia online publication platform. http://revuebleuorange.org/ She also translated several electronic literature works of J.R. Carpenter and Nick Montfort.
